This handmade kirikane geometric drawing is the first in a new series of works that combine my geometric drawings with hand-cut silver lead. I heat-bond and hand-cut real Japanese silver leaf sheets into thin hair-like strands before laying them onto my drawings and adhering them in place. It is meticulous and intricate work. Made by hand, this drawing is completely unique and original. Inspired by the passage of time, it captures rhythm and flow patterns within its lines.
