This handmade papercut drawing was created by artist Kate Ive.

Kate was researching traditional handmade watermarks. This handmade papercut was part of Kate’s experimental work exploring light and shade drawings. She created this spider inspired drawing by layering hand cut paper. This piece fuelled her desire to learn the traditional way to create watermarks.

She undertook a residency at a paper museum in Italy in order to learn the process. She worked with Master Paper Makers to create a one-off handmade watermark art drawing.
