This bronze art medal was created by artist Kate Ive inspired by the theme of time.

Kate was selected as the British Art Medal Society’s ‘New Medallist’. The award is run by BAMS in collaboration with the British Museum, V&A, Royal Mint and National Academy of Art Sofia, Bulgaria. Kate spent 1 month at the National Academy in Bulgaria, where she created this art medal.

Kate created this art medal by hand carving and engraving a cast plaster disc. Inspired by the theme of time, Kate carved intricate details of cogs and watch part intermingled with references to astronomy. The art medal sculpture was then cast in bronze and patinated.
